Hi
I have a long recording that is partially in English and so I need to overdub some parts of it with Icelandic translations. I'm wondering how best to do this and with what audio editor. I would like to be able to listen to my recording and start and stop the recording of the overdub as needed. Any tips for me?
If I am understanding your needs, any multi-track editor should serve your purpose. I recommend Audacity as a free, easy to use and more or less accessible audio editor. You can put both tracks in, then volume envelope them as needed to make each as loud or quiet as you can. Only problem is I'm not sure how accessible enveloping is.
I would agree that audacity is the way to go here. I guess it depends on if you are trying to splice something together or have the translated part playing over top of the original language part. In either case, audacity is a good bet here.
